Hi, everyone:

Here is Robbiechang comes from China.
I got a new LG GW620 in hand and found I only can install the software into the phone memory but not the extendable SD card. I think this is a very very bad situation that limited us to install more software we want.
Is there anybody can give me a help on this?
I had sought how to solve this problem in the internet and it seems that I need to get the root authority in first and then I can do this action. Am in right?
Is there any potential threat can caused the mobile malfunction during the root process?

By the way, How can I uninstall the original software in the phone such as Moxier mail, SNS and etc.?

I don't know about installing software on the SD, but a quick way to delete software that you're not supposed to delete:

1. Download and install Root explorer from market
2. Enable root access on phone:

  1. Dial 3845#*620# to get into secret menu
  2. Select Module test
  3. Select stability test
  4. Select enable root permission.
  5. (if asked for a password, it is: EVE&ADAM&&620LOVE! )
3. Run Root explorer, enable read/write by pressing "Mount R/W"
4. Go to the folder "system", then "app".
5. There you can find and delete or rename whatever apps you want.

britbloke has a much more detailed thread on this. this procedure looks pretty straight forward to do. bikbok; you mention 'root explorer' which one i see 3 to buy and 1 free one. will 'android mate (free)' work ?

I have never tried this Android Mate, so I wouldn't know. But if you can mount the disk to read/write, then it should work.

Android Mate(free) does not give me the option you mention. i'm able to root to where the specfic apk is then i tried the only option delete and it says 'sorry, can't unistall (i.e. moxier). so you are using from the market 'root explorer (file manager)' for uk1.90 ??

Thanks for everydody first. I had done the procedure that Bikbok provided, the problem I faced that is in step 3 (Run Root explorer, enable read/write by pressing "Mount R/W",), when I pressing "Mount R/W", the system was hang on it. Is this the normal situation when run above procedure?

Do you get any kind of confirmation after selecting "Enable Root Permission"?

I guess it doesn't matter anyway...Root Explorer keeps Force Closing...
