Help How to keep stock sms's notification popup but use handcent's notification in status bar?

Ahh I've been trying to figure it out for the past half hour! I hate the popup that handcent gives as opposed to the polished stock app's popup.. Any ideas?


[ediy] also has anyone else noticed that handcent's resolution is low on the rezound's screen? it is really annoying me
 
wait..notification bar notification, or a POPUP like how handcent will have a little box on your screen popup with a message and you can quick reply right there? which do you mean
 
Are you trying to turn off the pop-up? When in Handcent, go to settings, notification, enable pop-up or something like that...make sure the box ISN'T clicked.
 
Maybe I am using the wrong term.. On the lock screen, the stock app has a little "popup" thing that you can drag into the ring to open the app. I like how it is simple, shows the picture, but doesn't have options for replying to the text right from the lock screen. So I kept the stock app's notification/vibrate/sound and turned off the sound, vibrate, etc from handcent, but I kept the status bar notification for it. So now I'm getting two notifications for the same app in my status bar, but I want to turn off the status bar notification for the stock app while maintaining its lock screen popup/notification. Hope that makes better sense...
 
go to the settings of your stock messaging app and see if you can turn off notifications. That will probably get rid of the status bar ones but it may also get rid of the popup that you drag into the circle.
 
You will need to go into settings in stock messages "Notifications"and turn off (uncheck) received notification you will also be able to modify other items of interest
 
Turning off notifications for the stock app greys the option to check the box for sms preview on the lock screen. :( oh well, guess I will just suck it up and deal with double notifications lol
 
I had the same issue and use Handcent, by manipulating both apps, you should get the result I think you want. Handcent has a popup settings, under notification settings. It has two options for "show when locked".....
