How to listen to music with a bluetooth headset?

Super BT Mono worked for me (HTC Desire HD) unfortunantly You gotta buy the full version trial works only for 4 days If I remember correctly. I wish there was a free solution for this, anyway at least I solved My Problem
 
I have found the solution you all are asking for, though I warn you, it's not cheap. I use the Jabra Extreme(Amazon.com: Jabra EXTREME Bluetooth Headset: Cell Phones & Accessories) and it sends all phone sounds to the mono earpiece. I use for all applications you've mentioned, Spring Navigation and podcasts while at work to not annoy my coworkers.

That site has it listed for around $40, but if you buy it from retail store, like I did, it cost around $80. But it's still the best option. And the sound quality while talking is very good as well.
 
So I found an app in the marketplace for my droid called Bluetooth audio widget, I am trying a free 5 day trial but it works great. The sound is actually ok too even though I am using a cheap bluetooth. I was 1.99 Euro to buy (2.17 us) which I found pretty cheap. it works great!
 
I was looking out for this solution for a while now! I tried "Super Mono Froyo" on my HTC Wildfire with froyo. but it is not working. looks like a graphics issue and I am not able to see the buttons.. is there another one I can try?

^ I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a while. I just found BTmono in the Market (Ad supported. Paid version is only $1). Downloading now. Will report back in a few and let you know if it works or not.


Edit- Works like a charm. Sound quality isn't great, but I don't think it is the app's fault. Could be a number of things. Stereo->Mono, my crappy BT headset, etc.
 
Super BT Mono works. Thanks to the person who posted it. The quality is ok for mono... and I got used to it fast. I use a samsung galaxy s II
 
well, i know its been awhile since this has been looked into, but for anyone with a mytouch 3g slide, or a phone with a genius button, music can be played for what seems to be an unlimited amount of time thru a bt headset in conjunction with the super bt mono app. three steps. turn on super bt mono. start playing music thru any music app (im using gtunes). then click the genius button. once the connection is made, the genius app can be closed, and music can still be heard thru the headset.
 
My motorola droid 2 global is a total miss on this front. I found 2 apps BT Mone and BT super mono in the android market and installed both of their trial versions and found them to be of no use. Bot of them turn on the BT headset as I can start hearing the hissing noise as soon as I turn on the feature, but no auido feed is coming thru the BT headset.

Does anyone know any other apps in non-traditional places which were proven to work with the phone mentioned ? My Android version is froyo (V. 2.2 that is)

I don't want to sound crass or unthankful, but did either of you read my last post where I said I have tried BT Mono and BT supermono and neither worked on my particular phone ?

I am soliciting advice from owners of Motorola Droid-2 (preferably global version but regular works as well I think) who successfully installed and make a BT Mono like application work ? If yes, how ?

it appears no inspire users have commented on weather the mono tone app works for us. I am only inquiring because, my e71x with plantronics any ear piece was awesome.

no I can't hear my music :'(
 
This thread was originally in the HTC Hero section. I've decided that it's high time to move it as members who are posting in here are using other phones. Hopefully moving this thread to the Android Lounge will give it more exposure.

When I dial the "**" it calls Verizon and tells me something along the lines of "you're feature update can.not be completed. Anything anyone can tell me to try would be greatly appreciated

You can use any simple phone, mono , bluetooth headset to listen to audio from your Android device. There is this tool that worked well on Windows Mobile , it is called BlueMusic and has been ported to Android OS recently. Music, podcasts and games, actually all sounds can be routed via a bluetooth connection even to a simple phone Headset . This software also supports A2DP, so can be used with stereo headsets as well. It's working close to a bluetooth headset manager, if you want. The software is available on android market, search for BlueMusic, and on developers website : BlueMusic
A feature that I like most is the ability to redirect the audio after a phone call. As you know, when your headset is connected and you get a phone call, you can take it on the headset, but this would stop your music playback. This software has this option, to redirect the audio over bluetooth after a phone call. I find it very useful, actually it gives me continuous Music support, exactly like it did on my old Windows Mobile phone.
The only limiting factor I could think of, for this not working with your hardware, is your Android's Bluetooth stack, since there were so many complaints on Google's limited bluetooth API. Make sure you test the trial version first, or contact the developer for compatibility questions.

I have a little Blue tooth FM transmitter that I use on a daily basis I got off of Amazon with A2DP called the Setachi Soundfly. It works okay for gps directions and listening to phone media on trips.

This still does not solve the situation for mono, no A2DP headsets outside of the car.

A trial application BT dongle does it for 5 days and it shows it can be done.

I believe the app Bluetooth Audio Widget will solve your issue. However you have to make sure you start your media player first, before you switch the audio from your handset to your headset, otherwise your media player may freeze up.
