How to make an app

Hi guys,

I've decided I want to make an app but not sure how to code for mobile devices. What language is typically used?

I've got experience in java/HTML/JavaScript so I think I could manage it.

My biggest hurdle in making it multiplayer, I think the game idea itself will be quite easy once I find out language I'm going to use and what's needed, making it multiplayer will be the tricky part. Does anyone know of some sources to get me started or point me in the right direction where I can find out more?
