Root How to make games compatible

I was really excited when I was browsing the App Store on my iPod and saw Real Racing 3, so I went to my Evo to get it. However, it says it's not compatible with out devices! I remember reading that you have to do something to the build prop to turn it into a different device or something. I'd love to do that, but would there be a way to go back to normal? I don't want to do anything permanent.

So if I was to first write down the exact build prop lines that I would be changing, then reswitch them back to the originals after getting the app, nothing bad would happen, right? That's what it seems to be.

Edit: I tried this, but I'm getting an error that's telling me it's unable to save.

Actually, as I suggested in that thread it's easier to copy your current build.prop to a saved copy, then rename that back to the default when you don't need the modified version.

By "unable to save" do you mean while installing the app or while playing the game?

It seems that I totally screwed this up. I went to the link but instead of editing the copy I edited the original. I got that file to save in ES Explorer now, but I still have an Evo 3D after deleting the data for the Play Store, so I can't download the game still.

Just grab the build.prop file from the /system directory of the zip file for whatever ROM you're running and you can use that to restore the original.

Alright. I actually fixed the two lines I had previously edited, and it seems I was supposed to edit the ones on the System anyway. But it still won't recognize my phone as a Nexus S. When I go under reviews and then from this device model only, I'm still getting Evo 3D reviews.

Edit: I seem to have two different ro.product.model lines on my build prop.
