My brother has this phone and at first it was running great but it seems to have bogged down a little. Making calls lags, multitasking lags...its kind of annoying. I was in the same boat with my Eris until i rooted it and loaded a custom rom that was default safely overlocked nearly 200mhz above stock and now my phone runs great and hes jealous. Is there anything goin like that for this phone? Or any tips to make it faster or more responsive? Hes got advanced task killer loaded and kills whatever isnt necessary but it hardly helps. It is running ADW.Launcher(donut) to repalce the crappy stock home screen/GUI as well.

Is he running 1.6 or 2.1?
If it is the former have him upgrade to Android 2.1.
And if he's already using 2.1 backup all his data and do a phone hard reset. Also, tell him it's a bad idea to use a task killer application as Android is smart enough to manage memory on it's own. In fact, having a Task Killer running in the background and having it auto-killing applications is actually a waste of CPU cycles.
Make sure you and your brother read this article:
