How to make Textra as default SMS application?

Hi all,
I want to make Textra sms application as my default but I couldn't see any option. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

What Android version are you running?

Prior to 4.4 there was no such thing as a default SMS app. You just install whatever app you want and disable notifications from the stock app (and remove it from your homescreen/dock and replace with the preferred one).

In 4.4 you set a default app via Settings > Wireless and Network > More. You may still need to disable notifications from the non-default one, depending on how they were written.

Hi

Open contacts

If you open a contact who has a mobile number then select the envelope to create an SMS to them you should get a choice of apps. Select the one you want then "always use". This should cause the app to be opened by default in future but you will still have to disable notifications in other SMS capable apps as they will all "receive" all SMSes
