Help how to manually refresh email in version 5.1

JBH46

With email auto-synch intentionally turned off, how do you manually refresh email? This worked fine in earlier versions with a button at top of account banner to initiate the function and can't find any way to start this in new version

It depends what email app you use (and as manufacturers often put their own version on even assuming "the built-in one" isn't enough if we don't know what device).

In my experience most either have a refresh button on the screen or a refresh option in the menu. But have you tried swiping down when at the top of your inbox (as if trying to scroll up past the top of the list)? That triggers a refresh in many email apps.

Thanks. Using Moto X as platform. Scrolling down from header doesn't work but sometimes scrolling up and then down shows the little rotating circular icon but nothing actually happens. Still cannot find any option anywhere for a manual refresh. Finally set for auto-synch every five minutes but this also seems inconsistent as I see emails on my desktop (2 different accounts) that don't get updated on Moto for 30 or more minutes. It seems to have a "get around to it" mode.
