Help How to merge contacts?

Does anyone know how to do this on the 5x?

Are the contacts synced with your Google account? If so, you can actually use the still-relatively new online interface to easily merge duplicates: https://contacts.google.com/preview/merge

another thing along these lines.. when you have done that! then i created a group which i thought would be the only thing i saw on my phone.... i chose them to in contacts, but still when i enter to call and go contacts i still have the complete list!

Thoughts?
