My phone blinks the Motorola M and I need to remove the battery to reset the phone. How do I open the phone?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums! 
Although removing the battery is possible, it doesn't seem like the phone was designed to have this done as with others (such as my last phone the Desire HD).
Here is a video on how to remove the battery
If you head to youtube, where the video is from, you will see that the guy has actually put that this IS NOT a guide on how to reset the phone, but how to remove the battery, to replace it with a larger one!
