Help How to protect S3 screen

Yesterday morning I went out for a run and when I got back, the screen on my S3 had cracked. Not sure if I accidentally tossed my GPS watch on top of it, or if something else caused it, but after browsing some forums it appears that the S3 screen is pretty fragile.

Fortunately, this happened only 2 weeks after I bought the phone, so T-mobile is replacing it for free. How can I protect the new screen from breaking? Will screen protectors help, or should I look into a really solid case like an Otterbox that protects back and front?

I always recommend Ghost Armor screen protecters there a pretty amazing product and if you live in the US there's probably a mall near you that has a kiosk that will install it for you.Ghost Armor. Your being a jogger it would probably be a good idea to go with a case as well. Very handy in case of drops out of sweaty palms.
 
Well, I've been using it since June 2012 with just a normal case + screen protector. I'm proud to say my S3 looks almost as new :)
