How to *really* block ads??

Hey there,

I have an EVO Design. It is rooted and has a custom ROM and kernel.

I've installed adblock and lbe security. I still get occasional ads in the notification area.

Where are these ads coming from? I've uninstalled almost all of my apps and blocked internet access for the remainder of them.

Yet, I still get these annoying ads.

Please help!
