Help How to reinstall OS after formatting HD

Hi

The hard drive has been formatted on my nephews Tab 3.0 in error. How do we go about reinstalling the Android OS onto the tablet? Where do we get the latest OS and how do we install it onto it?

Would i need to use Kies to reinstall it?

Any advice would be great as this is something Ive never done before.

1) There's no hard drive in a tablet.

2) You need the model number (not the name - Tab 3.0 is the name) of the device.

3) Go to SamMobile Firmwares put in the model number and see if there's firmware for the device. If there is (for your country/carrier - don't use the wrong one or you'll ruin the tab) notice if it has a Kies icon (orange) on the right end. If so it can be installed with Kies, if not you'll need Odin.

If it's not on the list, you'll need Samsung to restore it.
