Apparently this model has a really simple way to swap batteries, there's a release catch in the back bottom to open up a cover plate and the battery just needs to be popped out. All that's needed is a stout fingernail or small, flat screwdriver.
This is a nice change of pace, the trend being most manufacturers now rely on glues, adhesives, and layered components to make battery replacement a pain. Hat tip to Kyocera for thinking of owners of its phones.
