Help How to remove duplicates from contacts

Hi

Somehow I have created duplictes in my contacs list, every contact is duplicated.

Is there a way to remove duplicates beside manually deleting each one, one at a time.

BTW, the phone is not sync'd to Google.

What kind of phone do you have Daniel?

Not all phones are created equal.

Your phone is most likely showing contacts from multiple sources. So it might be showing those contacts on your SIM card your Phone, Facebook, other social networking account, (often Google too but you said you had not synced with Google), sometimes an address book from your wireless provider (Like ATTs Address book), ETC.

Go into your contacts, tap the menu key and look for a manage contacts. Scroll to the bottom and it MIGHT (depending on the phone) have a show contacts (or display contacts) from

Hi, I have a Galaxy Ace and there is no option to Manage Contacts, nor an option of where Contacts are accessed from.

I have been unable to use Kies to manage anything, it will not even get into the phone, only the SD card, or I would use that to see what was what.

I guess I will just delete my duplicates in Contacts manually and keep looking for ways to get into the phone.

The option to display contact sources is there in ace, keep looking daniel.
It should be named as 'Contacts to Display' or 'Display Contacts' in the menu.

Hi, goto contacts => Menu => More =>Display options =>Select contacts to display => and try to unselect all, then choose only phone, or only SIM. If there are still duplicates you have to delete ( perhaps not) , if not.. well..solved
