How to remove personal data from Android that I am returning

Hi Al, welcome to the forums.

If you format/remove your SD Card and perform a factory reset, that should be more than sufficient of removing any personal data from the phone.

Just to add a little...

A full reset of the device - with the 'wipe sd card' box checked (that's if you are planning on not keeping the sd card)- and you are good to go.
