How to remove previous carrier software

Hi All,
Bought the phone when my galaxy Ace was in for repair, it was locked to 3 UK, it has sinced beened unlocked, but I still get the 3 UK crud, question is how to I get rid of it.

All ideas, suggestions and help greatly appreciated

Hi, i just unlocked mine from 3 last night, wanted the same thing as you, so i did the update to 2.3 using the CyanogenMod 7 ROM - very easy just follow the instructions on the link

Install ClockworkMod Bootloader and Cyanogen 7 ROM to Samsung G5 I5500 - xda-developers

My phone (i5500) is a lot more responsive, Quadrant score went from 600 to 1600!
I have also overclocked the CPU from 600 to 748 which you can do from the settings menu once using the CyanogenMod software.

Just make sure you back EVERYTHING up!
