Help How to remove root from S3?

You could restore the nandroid backup you made (you did make one right?) before you installed CM then use the unroot option in superuser. If not flash or Odin the stock rom for your carrier.

Booting into Recovery mode and selecting "Restore from /sdcard" has a file named: 1970-01-01.00.04.31_JSS15J.L710VPUBMK5/

I'm guessing that's the backup? Pretty sure I made one.

I upgraded to Kitkat but here is what mine looks like. Yours looks about right for 4.3

I'm on KitKat aswell, 4.4.2. Just don't know where my backup would be located. In recovery mode with that file name? Looks like an odd file name and I don't want to run it incase it's something else.

Use a file manager and look in both your internal and external sdcards. What recovery did you use? Look for that folder in both places under backups.

There's a folder in my file manager named TitaniumBackup, with a bunch of files.
Those are backups of your apps, data and settings. You need a nandroid backup made by CWM, TWRP or Philz. Looks like you have one for MK5 which was Jellybean. But you are on Kitkat now.

If you can't find it, you might want to Odin Unrooted Stock for 4.4.2 that will put you back completely to stock, including recovery. This is the only state your phone can be in to receive an OTA. Many people also do this to return the phone to the carrier.

Just don't Odin anything other than 4.4.2 Stock NDC or maybe even ND8.

You are on Virgin Mobile or Boost?

When you go to About Phone it says you are on 4.4.2?

I remember creating a backup... I used Philz touch recovery. Virgin Mobile.
