Root How to remove unremovable bloatware?

Hello, i need some help over here with my S3 mini, this phone comes with a huge amount of trash and bloatware witch are actually pushing the system to an unstable condition. This phone comes from Vodafone and it has allot of trash from them, but the worst part is that you can't uninstall them (!!!). I was (still am) very angry at this so i gave them a call, all they said is that those apps (aka: trash) is part of the system and they cannot be uninstalled without affecting the stability, i then told them: "Having your f****** app's is what is making my
system unstable!".
Their answer was: "well... uninstalling them will void your warranty", and i am like: "and i couldn't care less about your stupid Vodafone warranty".

My big question here is how do i remove them? I know you can root the phone and uninstall them, but i don't know how. I'm honestly a root-noob.

To root that phone I would use this toolkit. Its a free download for Windows from a trusted developer Mike Skipton.

There is a lot to take in and I would read up as much as you can and understand what you are doing before you do anything to your phone. It's a good idea to register on these forums and post any questions to the all things root section for the s3 mini where people can have 2 way conversations.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums!

If you want to remove pre-installed carrier bloatware / apps that came with the phone which were installed by the carrier, such as game demos, sound hound and the like, then you would need to root your phone. Please bear in mind that rooting your phone voids your warrantee, however there are also positives to doing so (like the removal of pre-installed apps). More info on rooting can be found in the “All Things Root” section of your device’s sub-forum, should you want to go for it.

Once you have rooted, it is then possible to install “root only” apps, such as Titanium Backup. TB allows you to remove any apps (including pre-installed carrier apps). It is worth noting that some apps, even if you don’t use/want them, could be used by your system, so it is important not to just start removing apps. Please also note that if it is safe to remove apps for one device, it doesn't necessarily mean that the app is safe to remove for ALL devices. It really depends on the services provided by the app as specified by the particular rom/build. More importantly, system apps are not easily restorable like simply installing an .apk file. And once deleted, even a factory reset will not recover them. You will have to locate and flash a stock rom image to get them back.

One option in TB allows you to freeze apps – I would suggest that you do this initially, as you can always unfreeze the app if you notice that you are experiencing any issues. If, once apps are frozen, your phone is behaving normally, then you can look to removing them. It would be a good idea to freeze apps individually, so that you will notice if each one affects your phone adversely.

As rooting is quite an involved process, I'd suggest signing up for a free account here at Android Forums and heading to Galaxy S3 Mini - All Things Root - Android Forums where you can connect with other users of the same phone (they are always best to offer you help and advice on anything to do with your phone).

Hi, thank you for both of your time.
Warranty is not a problem to me.
About having sure what app's to uninstall, i know that they are not part of the system vitals, because, before i update the firmware, the bloatware could actually be removed, but after the update, they come back and now its unremovable. Im going to try to root based on your info. Thanks a bunch.

If you remove bloatware, you may not be able to update OTA (Over The Air), as it could cause the download to fail. This is because you will have modified the firmware on your phone - the carrier's update may be looking for all apps that should be on your phone and, when it can't see them, it could fail.

The fact that you may not be able to receive updates from the carrier should not be a problem... you can always update the phone yourself - I am sure that other members will be able to offer you help and advice regarding that!
