Root How to REPLACE a System App

Just curious if anyone could tell me how I would go about removing the system calendar that came with my CM 12.1 Nightly with the Google Calendar? I have two calendars that give me duplicate notifications and I want to only use Google. Thanks...:)

Yes I have root. Thanks and I'll look into it to see if I can grasp the process 'alone'! It appears to be similar to ES File Explorer, which I do use.

Since I have never tried doing such 'surgery' I was hoping for a little guidance if possible! but hey, I might try this - alone! doodly-doo doodly-do doodly doodly doodly do......

Ok - so, ES File Exp has root turned on and I went to the .apk I wished to remove. I pulled the trigger and it's **gone**. Then it occurred to me that Titanium Backup has a function whereby it can 'convert' an app to a 'system app', so I'm trying that as I type...............................................oh my! It's seemingly stuck in 'Processing' mode...back in a bit.

Nope, that conversion to system app within Titanium doesn't seem to work for this. It's likely because it's a Google .apk, IDK...

Any suggestions?
