Help How to restore screen using a tap [SOLVED]

Android 11. My phone is set to turn off the screen after 5 minutes. It is restored by pressing the power button. How can I set it so that tapping the screen restores it? I ask because I don't want to lose a phone call in mid-conversation by pressing the power key.

Your setting is for the screen to turn off only, this has nothing to do with phone calls being disconnected. Your screen may turn off, but the call that is in process will not be...also by touching the power button will not shut off the phone nor disconnect a call.

I see. But I've found that it's too easy to accidentally double press the power button when the screen is off and I'm on a call - which will disconnect that call. Is there no way to use a screen tap to restore it? When I was on a call today, the caller suggested I do that when I mentioned my screen was blank and I needed to enter a number.

no. the problem with that is when you have the phone in your pocket for instance. it will be too easy to wake the phone when it is in your pocket, and you could easily disconnect the call that way.

I don't make calls with my phone in a pocket. Does Android 11 have no means to set Wake to 'tap screen'?
