How to Restore to new Tab A from Nexus 7 backup?

I just got a new Galaxy Tab A after my Nexus 7 died.
I always backed up the Nexus and am wondering how to restore the Nexus Backup onto the new Tab?
When I go to Settings/Restore on the Tab it says there are no backups, ok.
I don"t see a Nexus 7 backup on my G Drive either...
HELP! please

How did you do the backups for your Nexus 7?
Since you're working with tablets from two different manufacturers there's not a clean, seamless way to transfer the user account data from an Asus Nexus to a Samsung Tab. You're probably going to just need to manually copy your data, files, etc. from your backup into the appropriate folders on your Tab.

Do you connect to your Tab wirelessly (WiFi) or using a USB cable? If the latter, you might get by using the file manager of whatever computer/laptop you have (Windows Explorer or Mac Finder), just keep in mind your are accessing your Tab using a non-native operating system that only has limited capability with the file system/directory tree in your Android tablet. If the former, an alternative is to just do one big file transfer from your backups onto Tab, and then use the 'My Files' app, and file manager app that Samsung includes on its devices. It's a basic file manager with a more user-friendly but curated user interface -- limited feature set but appropriate for most people. You also have the option to install and use a third-party file manager app instead of My Files. Third-party file managers can be simplistic or much more complex, but most allow a wide range of user interface customizing and have a much more extensive feature sets -- i.e. connect to devices on the same local network.

Something to keep in mind is Smart Switch works best when it's Samsung-to-Samsung devices. You need to have backups from a compatible Samsung device in order to be able to then transfer that backup data onto a compatible Samsung device. The OP could attempt to use Smart Switch to back that Asus Nexus and then see if their data can be restored onto that Galaxy Tab but as a warning to the OP, keep those original backups you made separate and handy as you'll probably need to use those instead. The Smart Switch utility does work with some non-Samsung devices but a Nexus 7 isn't their recommended Compatibility list (Nexus 4 and 5 are in the list):
