how to root galaxy s3 without usb connection?

I recently took my galaxy s3 to a guy to unlock and since then I cannot use the usb as a mass storage. Now to be able to use the UMS features I will have to root. How do I root without usb? I thought about hard reset and then root but I don't want to loose the unlock.
