Root How to Root Optimus T

OK...so I just got an Optimus T and after seeing the obscene amount of preinstalled apps there are I'm pretty sure I want to root it. But I'm a complete and total noob so I have a few questions.

#1: How?

#2: What are the pros and cons?

#3: Will it void my warranty?
