Root How to root without having to back up apps and having to reset phone ?

I just want to root my phone. I don't want to have to back up any apps, flash a new rom, factory reset my phone. Is this possible ?

No. The root process wipes your phone. making backups and flashing new ROMs are things you do after you root your phone. It's pretty dumb to root your phone and then not flash a custom ROM. Flashing to custom ROM takes about five seconds and will greatly improve every aspect of the phone.

"wiping" the phone is really not as drastic as it seems. if you have titanium backup you can backup all apps and data. when you flash a new rom you can restore the apps and data, and it's basically like you never wiped.

You have to be rooted to use titanium back up.

You have to unlock your bootloader to root and the unlocking process wipes your data.

Exactly.

You MUST wipe the phone to unlock the bootloader. It cannot be done without doing this. The process for this phone requires it. You cannot back anything up because all the apps that perform backups cannot be used until you're already rooted.

Wiping isn't a big deal if you have Titanium; just restore the apps you need as you need them. Restore data for non-system apps, so you won't even need to re-enter your login info in most cases.

Thats the Catch 22 I came across. I wanted a 'snapshot' of the OS so I could always go back to my retail version but I had to gain root to do that. So I bit the bullet and rooted yesterday. The whole process went well (I did not perform S-OFF) and I flashed the 'midnight' rom and then installed Google Now. It was worth it just for Google Now.

The 'midnight' rom is very close to retail (3D Camera etc) but with major enhancements and the removal of the VM garbage.

I assume that when I sell the phone there is a rom that can put all the VM garbage back on?

Im used to the Triumph where we could root and then run a backup on the retail rom without wiping it.

Yeah you can easily flash the stock odex or run the RUU to get back to the stock rom and Apps. The Triumph was special in that it was practically factory rooted. All we really had to do was install the su binary and we were good.
