How To Root XPERIA ZR C5502 V4.2.2

Hi,

I have a Sony Xperia ZR phone with Android version 4.4.2, and I downladed
an app called Light managers for LED notifications.

However, to set a notification for whatapp it says "ROOT REQUIRED"

I have no idea what any of this is or how it can be done, can someone advise what needs to be done, or is there some sort of a step by step manual that I can follow.

There is a whole culture associated with root-ing. In essence it is applying an exploit to the Android system on your phone allowing you to gain total control of the phone. This allows you to do things that are prevented on un-root-ed phones (like deleting pee-installed software). For most phones it also violates your agreement with the carrier and your warrenty can become void.
