Ok, Some Is Having proplems Rooting and unrooting So here is a Topic to help u all
Ok Here is the rooting Program:Root Download

Steps:How to Root the Galaxy Ace

1. Copy the Root.zip file into your sd card. You can even put it in a folder if you want.

2. Turn your phone off

3. Boot your phone into recovery mode. To do that, HOLD HOME+POWER buttons. When the screen turns on and you see the Samsung logo, let go of POWER but keep holding HOME. After the Galaxy Ace logo shows up and disappears, you should enter recovery mode. You can let go of HOME now.

4. Now in recovery mode, you can scroll up and down using the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons and select using the HOME button.

5. Scroll to the second option “apply update from sdcard” and press HOME to select.

6. Scroll to the Root.zip file and select it (if you put it in a folder, find and open that folder and then select Root.zip

7. After it’s done installing, select “reboot system now” and wait for the phone to reboot
If You Get Installation Aborted:Universal Root Program[If You Get Install Aborted[Only] (Same Steps As Above)
And To Unroot you Phone

1.Download unroot.zip (below) and put in sd card

2. Turn off the phone and boot into recovery (refer to step 3 above)

3. Install the unroot.zip (similar to step 5 and 6 above)

4. Restart phone

Unroot Program

ive attempted to root my phone and i have the super user app installed and everything. ive also installed titanium back up, busy box, and root checker.

ive checked my device with root checker and it says "this device does not have proper root access"

really want to know where ive gone wrong as i want to root my phone to remove some 19 pre installed apps that i dont use
 
hi guys, i have recently tried the above rooting instructions only to have both the root zip and universial root come up as installation aborted.

My galaxy ace is version S5839iBVLD3 using android gingerbread 2.3.6. Im not sure if being S5839i is the cause but i do presume its for the os not the phone so much.

Now i havent a clue what to do next!!! Is there any different zips that will work?

Im new on here and have been using android for about a month and like to think im a bit tech savvy.

hello there

i m trying to do root my samsung galaxy ace i hve done the first 2 steps but after turn of my cell phone when i hold the button of home and Power and when my phone is turn on its same coming Home i m not entring in recovery Mode plzz help....
 
Just to confirm that it worked on my samsung galaxy ace, running 2.3.6
Could not root using SuperOneClick (just wasted my time, as it ended up by not responding) Then I found this thread, thanks a lot!
 
Thanks for the detailed description of how to root you phone, i have never done anything like this before as i am not much of a phone geek, however curiosity got the better of me and i rooted the phone easily.

Now the question is where to go from here, i notice the superuser app in the menu so i will have a look at that and maybe a bit more reading from you guys on here will point me in the right direction.

Hi there, I have downloaded root checker and run it on my device following the above installation, it says sorry this device does not have proper root access.

Help me pls! I have done everything what has to do to root galaxy ace, but always my phone says in recovery that installation aborted etc... And when i try to open data file with file explorer, it says that this phone doesnt appear to be rooted, or smthing like that. And when i go root checker, it says that "sorry! This device does not have proper root access". SO WHAT TO DO??? Im so tired for this. I want flash player and i need more phone memory to incoming apps. Sry my bad english :) Help a desperate guy

Try the universal root method posted in this forum, it has a better success rate and is supported by the developer. This developer never set foot in this thread again after posting it.
Anyways, you still can't get flash even after rooting, it does not work well on this phone. Try flash air or something similar. Adobe has already discontinued flash for smartphones since august.
 
Hi All,

I am very new to andriod and have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GTS5839i I am honestly regretting this purchase more as each day passes. The internal phone memory is so small that I have got to a point where i can no longer recieve texts!!! :mad:

The first time this happened i took my phone back to the 3 shop and the assistant just did a factory re-set saying I would have to do this every other month?!?! Surly this is not right :confused:

So I thought i would try rooting the phone to delete some pre-installed apps... However I have tried both zips and still get installation aborted. Please can someone advise? is there another file i can try?
