How to save a downloaded file

I sent a document by email to my samsung. When it arrived I opened the email and saved it as a downloaded file. Now I want to save the document in order to have access to it on a regular bases.

They go to your download folder (usually <internal SD card</Downloads) but you won't see them in the Downloads app. Use a file manager like ES File Explorer or Total Commander to look for them. (You can move them to your external SD card if you prefer.)
