How to select SD card as default storage location?

My phone's internal storage is completely full. I have a 64GB SD card inserted into my phone, but it isn't being used to store files such as images and other data. Can the SD card be selected as the default storage location?

I've done this, twice. But my SD card keeps getting corrupted while trying to format.

Is it a legit card? If it's getting corrupted just through formatting, try using an app like SD Insight to verify the capacity isn't faked.
