how to start up network connection

Page 83 of your user manual states to open Settings / Wireless and Networks / WiFi Settings and turn WiFi on. It will begin searching for networks, tap on the one you want and connect. If it is a secure network you will have to enter a password. Some open networks require you to open your browser after connecting to their network and confirming agreement to their terms.
