How to stop phone from importing Facebook contacts?

I just received my HTC Sensation XE, went through the setup and put in all the necessary information for my accounts. However all of my facebook contacts were imported to the phone, is there anyway to remove them? I can't just simply delete them and I have tried googling around to no avail. So does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

i didnt think the new facebook app synced the contacts to the phone

It appears you're right, realised there was a new android update available. Downloaded that and now it seems to be working nicely
