I noticed every time i click on the video recorder in the camera it starts recording right away why does it do that? anyway to open up the video recorder without recording until i press the button to do so?

Wow are you rooted and are you using the software installed app or a unkonown source app aka something from the market.

How are you playing the video or recording them are u using a unknown app source
When i open the stock camera on the note 3 and click on the video recording button it opens up and starts recording i wanna know how can i stop it from recording when i open it?

I think this is just how it operates now from the Samsung stock camera app, at least on the Tmo version. The switch is no longer there to pop between the two types of camera but is operated from the same screen using two function buttons like a lot of newer cameras use. You'll notice that all video and still settings are also available from the camera app.

I like the new function buttons much better. I hated having to toggle, depending on which setting I used last. now, I can just open the camera and press video record or snap a pic.

And I think that's part of it hinted at right there. This thing will take stills at the same time as video which requires both buttons to be live. I haven't tried it yet though.

Well it sucks cause on my note 2 u can open the video camera and then press the record button when u like this damn phone just starts recording on its own once i open the video recorder smh!

You are correct sir. This is a new feature in the Note 3 that was explained in just about every review I read. I like this new feature as well. Much simpler than opening the video recorder then recording.

Just open the camera app. No need to open the video camera on the note 3. If you just open the camera app, you either press the shooter to snap a pic or the video camera button to start recording video. This eliminates an extra step.

You could take stills while shooting video, on the Note 2 also. They made it even easier with the 3.

I don't understand why Samsung making it easier would be a bad thing.....Note 2 requires you to toggle from camera to video making it take a lot longer, when the Note 3 just requires a simple tap to start shooting right away. I hated having to do that on my N2 and love that they changed it on the S4 and N3.

Yeah, I was a 'bit confused on why it was worse to have 2 separate buttons directy on the screen to either start shooting pictures or shooting video, without having to toggle.

I absolutely love that! And already came into good use, when one of my God daughters was visiting my mother in the hospital and I was able to capture a 2 year old trying to figure out the hospital phone!
