How To: Sync iTunes with Android

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and it worked OK.
I did have problems because I had not gone into the settings/wireless and network/usb utilities and connected the phone.
After that is showed up and everything worked as advertised.:)
 
Ok.. soo.. I'm big on playlists. What's the best software to sync music, including playlists? iTunes Agent apparently doesn't? TuneSync is slow and clunky and so is DoubleTwist (not to mention DoubleTwist never syncs all my files, it randomly files errors with a bunch of songs for no reason)

I just want iTunes for Android! Why is this so hard!?
 
I'm being lazy and havn't read every post in this thread but i find IsyncCR is much better than the two already written in the first post. It also does Sync over Wifi.
 
So I had this same problem. I tried DoubleTwist, Google Music, Amazon, etc... there are a bunch of solutions on the market for this sort of problem but nothing seemed to really work for me. I always had double music or tracks wouldnt delete from the mobile device when I removed them from iTunes... or I had to select a playlist I wanted to sync.. or they were super SLOW... it just got frustrating to me.

What I wanted was my files that are in iTunes (and playlists) to go from iTunes to my Android phone. If I added tracks on either side I wanted them to go across, if I removed from either side I wanted them deleted from both. I couldnt make it work with the products I tried, so I built an app to do it for me. If you are interested in the project it is free to download it at austinHenderson dot com. I encourage you to check it out if you dont find the solution for your need.

Thank you so much for such detail info. It helped, but I do have a question and hope you don't mind. I can't figure out how I can sync my pictures. Can I use this for it and how? I sure hope you don't mind and do have an answer...:o).

I have an infuse and used to use itunemywalkman but for some reason it always freezes or goes super slow now and ive tried everything I can think of but nothing has worked so far!!! Can anyone help??
 
Great info. however iTunes Agent is now known as NotPod. Seems as though Apple doesn't like the idea of someone using the iTunes name for a program that syncs iTunes with non-iOS devices :mad:

Idk if this is the same thing u were talkin about, but im tryin to transfer the songs on my huawei ascend android music to iTunes, or my computer so i can put the songs on iTunes, but i have no idea how to do it, ive looked up a bunch of different ways to do it but they dnt workkk, i cant find out how to get the music from my phone on the computerr, pleasee helpppp !!!!! lol :confused:

You can look at your Android phone using Windows Explorer (or whatever the equivalent is on Mac ... or even Linux) and then copy that music from the phone to your computer's HDD. From there you import into iTunes just like any other music you have on your HDD.

Use iSyncr. synces EVERYTHING! I use it all the time, it actually syncs! (doesn't just copy the music files) which keeps all your stuff there
 
Just to avoid misunderstandings, iTunesAgent (now called Notpod) DOES NOT SYNCS PLAYLISTS on iTunes.
It just syncs the music CONTAINED in certain playlists on iTunes.

This means that if you have multiple playlists in sync with files of different nature insight, it will blend all the files, and you will loose file control.

That's the reason why it is completely useless for most users (except the one that are use to play a single playlists).

Moreover, it does not support a full customized destination pattern creation, you will have at least 1 subdirectory level created.
On portable music players (iPod etc.) all the files are ALWAYS stored into the same directory, leaving to the player the ability to organize music according to mp3 or m4a tags.
This because each sub-directory level increase EXPONENTIALLY the time needed to scan/organize the music (the time needed to access files).

Most of the work is already done.
The just need, after files have been copied, to create a text file with same name of destination playlist name configured, ".m3u" extesion, place it into main declared destination folder, and write pattern/FileName inside.
I really can't understand why they are not willing to implement this 5-minutes change.

Talking about players, I've tried many of them, included the ones referred into this post.
I've find out that the best ones in terms of no-lagging, sound quality, sound adjustement, media-art recovery, Reply Gain support and FULL lock-screen support (without to pass from several lock screes, the player one, the system one, etc.) is PowerAmp.

That's actually the most used android player, that should be a reason behind that ;)

There is a time-limited trial version on Google Play, give it a try.

MeloDroid that let's you sync Android and iTunes over wireless and USB, including playlists. It also has a lot of other features. You can use your phone as a remote for iTunes, convert your songs to MP3, etc. Also there's song notifications. MeloDroid - Home
 
dear all , i am using samsung galaxy s3 , anyone know the way to transfer photo and video that my phone capture to my home pc ? the usb seems not working .. =(
 
also using a Samsung Galaxy S3 (ATT) and cannot complete the process with NotPod. Does this have something to do with the fact that the S3 (or is it the latest Android version) does not allow the SD card to be seen as a USB mass storage device.

very frustrating!

can anyone offer a proven, working method to sync iTunes music library to a Galaxy S3 with the latest Android OS ?
 
Hi! I'm new here and I have question about iTunes and music and stuff. If I'm posting in the wrong place feel free to move this and I apologize.

Here's the story: I got a new HTC One and I want to sync my music from iTunes. I didn't do this in the past because I have an iPod Touch, but with that speaker hype I feel like it would be a waste if I didn't. So I plugged my HTC One into the computer(MacBook Pro) and opened HTC Sync Manager. I share a computer with my mom, and the computer was signed into her account. A million of her songs appeared in the "music" section of HTC Sync Manager. It started "not responding", so I force quit. When I reopened it, all of her songs were still there. I went to "settings" and clicked remove for everything. "Automatically import from iTunes" was also unchecked. I went back to the music part and all her stuff was still there. I selected a bunch and pressed "delete" then it prompted me with "Do you want to delete these files from your computer?" and the options "keep files" "cancel" and "ok". I did "keep files" so they were off the HTC Sync and still on the phone. I signed into my iTunes and then went back and checked "Automatically import from iTunes, but it started syncing all my mom's music again. So...wat do?
