How to text number

Those are my thoughts
They're mine, too. After actually reading the message--and getting over the shock of a 3/2 house at prices not seen here since before I was born!--I thought 'this has scam written all over it.'

@Rgarner, what happens when you go to its URL? Even if it takes you to a valid site, that means nothing in today's world of scams. I have no idea what's considered normal housing prices in your area, nor am I up on renting, but 0 down seems too good to be true, and the price insanely low. Red flags are flying all over the place.

I helped my police department crack a housing fraud scheme involving the house next door. Long boring story skipped for brevity. Just beware! You wouldn't believe the things people can do to look perfectly legitimate--but they're not.

I looked at it. They claim to be a marketing company acting as an intermediary under the laws of Manitoba (Canada). There's no accessible solid info there. I'd drop it and not agree to anything, though I think it's just for other marketing reasons and probably not dangerous. if it doesn't quack like a duck ... You should just disappoint your friend, maybe, but continue if you wish after reading the terms. I doubt they ever actually have anything to offer from real estate companies.

Added: Best not to text STOP just block the number if it's maybe only marketing. Web pages weren't updated since 2018.

Short codes are for the most part just temporary, they're used for marketing, not actual phone or text messaging interactions. Essentially they're 'spam' codes.
With exceptions! KTLA [channel 5 here in LA], is the oldest TV station west of the Mississippi, and the recipient of countless awards and honors. No one considers it a spammer, or temporary! :D

You're confusing a company that uses short links for the actual company. Read through some of those posted links -- short numbers are already predetermined and not permanent, they get assigned on a temporary basis and commonly used for marketing purposes. Because they're not tied to any one particular company, they're not used for interacting with recipients, it's more of a one-way form of communication.

It's not a phone number to someone else's phone, you can only reply to a short number, you cannot call the short number.
Kohls, jc Penney and many businesses use the same short numbers for years, temporarily.... Lol
