How to tween image?

HI,

I want to put some effect for the images in my app. i want to change my banner images for a specific period of time,
can anyone tell me how to do this ? Here i have tried some what but no result
setContentView(R.layout.main);
imgView = (ImageView )findViewById(R.id.image1);
imgView.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.spin_animation);
AnimationDrawable ad = (AnimationDrawable) imgView.getBackground();

ad.start();
ad.run();
Please help ?
