Help how to uninstall a biultin Widget

Newbie
On a un rooted Desire bought from Kuwait how to remove Al-Moazin Wedge which came pre-installed with the device.I dont get the uninstall option in application manager or any other uninstalling app.sine it starts on muslims praying time wakes u up in the middnights. even if I stop the program it will start atomatically again once GPS or wifi is on.

You would need to be rooted for this.

However, using the following app (visionary):

19/Nov r14: VISIONary + one click root - Android @ MoDaCo

You can actually set and unset root on your OS (although I have not tried it) and possibly could remove via titanium with root set.


* Its not a full root. If you use it to temp root or perm root (you can unroot too) it should not be warranty affecting.


Orr if set as permanent root, maybe even using ADB, As in this thread here:

visionary worked on my device desire 2.2F successfully i have the superuser icon, but how to find the widget and uninstall it?
one more thing when i choose to unroot in visionary is say ur device doesnt seems to be rooted(already was temprooted) although super user icon exist. is this normal?
how to make sue if my device is unrooted anfer temp root.

If you temp root, reboot unroots. Install titanium backup from the market.

Then run Titanium, go to the backup / restore tab. You'll need to work out what the application is called. Locate it in the list and press it. Select uninstall

You could also just freeze it in the same way. It will be invisible from all menus and will not run.

if i succeed to unroot can I get online OTA like a original unrooted device from htc.or my desire is not virgin anymore!

It's not truly rooted in the sense of the word. Temp root disappears after reboot.

It's only an app so yes, if you perm root, after unroot ota should be fine.

For titanium, only temp root required. If you need to adb then perm root required

when I hit the backup/restore and choose application widgets it says
application widget current backup?/restore/delete but no list of application or widget is shown in details to choose from ,it backups or restore all the apps together i believe, any remedy to uninstall a specific wedgit?
is there any way to install manually busybox? since i have no internet in mobile now?

Nooooo. You dont choose "Application Widgets" from the list!

Open Titanium like below:

Press the Backup / restore tab to the view below:

Look in the list for your app / widget above. The SPECIFIC name.

Press your app / widget (below I chose "Homescreen tips" from the list above):

Press Uninstall.

Yet I can't freezing the app since says apps can be frozen by donated version of titanium ,happy to pay buit doesn't go to payment page or so, any link to a foul option titanium download?
In term of later online update is it safe to uninstall an integrated widgets?

As long as you know what you're uninstalling.

You could always back it up before uninstalling it to restore.it later


Just don't go mad uninstalling things

Thanks to your help I am done now.:)
was able to temproot HTC Desire with Visionary then Freez unwanted Widgets by a Titanium-pro( cost me only 5 usd).then urooted again now!!!.
tnx a million again.
