Help How to uninstall Ad Block Plus....safely?

Mcoupe

Newbie
A little help please....?

I want to UNinstall ABP for a moment and check some things, but I am a little scared I may mess something up.

I only have ABP on my WIFI settings, because on Sprint the AP for mobile is grayed out.

I wrote down what my previous "port" was, but not my previous/stock "proxy host name"...? Will this be a problem?

What I did to INSTALL ABP on my wifi.....

Settings
Network connections
Wi-fi
Long pressed on my home network
Modify Network Config
Show advanced options
Under PROXY it says "manual" I can't remember did i change it from "none" to "manual".....?
Proxy Host Name......i have typed in "localhost"
Proxy Port......I have 2020

Like I said, I have my old "port" written down, but NOT my old proxy host name (I could have sworn it was localhost also, but idk for sure???)

I am on Sprint, could some one please explain how I can safely uninstall ABP properly. I have read that if you don't change your settings BACK to stock properly ABP wont unistall properly, or you may have problems

Am I screwed?

Thanks for any help guys

IIRC, there won't be a Proxy Host when AdBlock Plus is removed.

I seem to remember that I uninstalled it once to see if it was causing me some problems. Then later, I reinstalled it again and did not have any issues, other than the reinstall required me to set up the Proxy Host port address again.

Thank you for your reply.

So I UNinstall Adblock first.....then goto into my wifi settings and change them back?

So do I need to change Proxy from Manual to None? Then change my Proxy port back to the old one.

Again thanks so much

Yes, if the proxy did not change to none by itself, then do that.

It has been a long time since I did it, but I do not recall having to do anything at all to the WiFi proxy.

worst case, delete the WiFi connection, then let the phone reconnect and it will take care of itself.
