My little sister is having the same problem with the free version. I am trying to troubleshoot this over the phone. Very frustrating. I am glad I never paid for that application. What an ass.
It's not uncommon for an app to have an expiration. It just means the developer intended to have an update released sooner that would have predated the expiration. (example: Astro used to do this when it was in development) Not sure what's going on, but Fede's reputation as a developer is pretty sterling. There has to be a very good explanation for this lapse.
