Help How to unlock my HTC EVO 4G LTE

Can anyone tell me how to unlock my HTC EVO 4G LTE from the Sprint network? I have Verizon and don't want to give up my old plan with "real" unlimited internet and after searching for weeks for a new phone that is CDMA with everything I wanted, I caved and purchased this phone knowing it had to be unlocked. I thought it would be easy to purchase an unlock code online and I've already been told by one service that they cannot do it and still waiting on a response from another and I suspect they won't be able to do it either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best method is to have Sprint unlock it. Then you can be sure you are good to go. If money is still owed on the phone against a Sprint account of course they will refuse. And you may not be able to get a usable code from a 3rd party service either, as you are finding out. Even if you do, Sprint could still turn the phone into a brick by blacklisting the IMEI number so be careful.

BTW, have you checked the compatibility of this phone with Verizon's LTE frequencies?

I have been told that it is compatible with Verizon as it is 4G LTE and CDMA. Looks like my best bet is to try Sprint to see if they will unlock it. I chatted with a rep at Sprint earlier today and they said they won't unlock the phone without an active account though. And I have Verizon.

Yeah - it's LTE Band 25, Verizon is Bands 2, 4, and 13 so far as I know.

The CDMA radios will get out on Verizon (800 MHz only) - but pretty sure that's it, if you can get it unlocked.

Yeah, just as I was finishing that reply it hit me that it seemed Sprint and Verizon used different LTE bands. Looks like the best thing for the OP to do is try to return the phone for a refund.
