How to update google account info on HTC Hero?

When I initally got my HTC Hero, I created a google account using my gmail address.
In the meantime I have changed my gmail address and now I don't know how to change it on the phone.
Therefor it keeps asking me to log-on, but to the wrong e-mail address.

Please, help me to change my Google account so I can refer to my new gmail address and hence start receiving e-mails on my phone again?

No problem!

On your phone, open Settings - Accounts & Sync. You should be able to remove your old google account there then add your new one. Easy as pie!

It might be easy, but I think that I need some additional help.

If I go to settings on my HTC Hero (Android 1.5), I can select "Data Synchronisation" which allow to initiate synchronisation.
I cannot see that I can remove my google account and create a new one?

Is there any hidden menu that I don't know of (I have just found the menu for mounting the SD card to be accessible from my laptop)?

Settings>Syncronisation, select your google acount by pressing it, there should be a remove option..
