Help How to use Google Keyboard in landscape?

I have an android phone and would like to use Google Keyboard in landscape mode when I tip the phone sideways..... I have large fingers.

Is it possible to use this keyboard in landscape? If so, how? I've looked deep in every setting and just can't figure it out.

Do you have screen rotation activated? The Google keyboard rotates and fills the bottom of my screen on both my Samsung Galaxy S2 and Note 3 when screen rotation is on.

Yes I do, but it doesn't rotate. This is the only app that doesn't.
