How to use keypad when on a call

Ekendra

Newbie
In my Galaxy2, I find that I am unable to use the keypad when making a call, say, to a bank, specially when they ask that I press "1" or "2" for some action.

Anyway I can get around this problem?

Thank you

while on the call, look at ur screen. once it turns on after u move it away from ur face (it takes a second), there's clearly a button marked keypad! :D

Thank you for responding.
I can open the keypad, but I am unable to use it. In other words thekeypad remains inactive. I can not use the numbers to activate any commands.
I need to find a way to use the keypad while I am on a call.

I have had this problem briefly when getting in touch with o2 using the automated system, I found that a 'longer' press on the number you want usually does the trick.

Thank you Evohicks and HeshanJ.
The keypad now works during call.:)

I just discovered that keypad entries will work on some telephones and not on other systems. Perhaps the keypad tones are not recognized.

Am using Galaxy Ace & while on-call I will be in need to use keypad to enter not just numbers but also letters. How will I enter letters? Eventhough letters are shown on keypads only numbers reflect. Please suggest
