Hi, was told something about being able to connect my laptop on my phones network for use on the net while out and about... is there an app for that?

Hi, was told something about being able to connect my laptop on my phones network for use on the net while out and about... is there an app for that?
No need for an app. Assuming you have a data plan for your phone, you need to do the following:
(1) Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>Use Packet Data
AND
(2) Under Wireless and Networks there is the option for Tethering. Tap it and then enable Mobile AP.
You should then be able to connect your laptop to the phone via wireless and in that way access your phone's data connection on your laptop.
