The back up feature found under settings >backup and restore on ics is intriguing to me but I think information on it is somewhat lacking. Anyway my question here is how can I tell which apps allow themselves to be backed as apparently some do allow app data to be backed up and others do not. So how do you know which is which?

Good question! Not sure either (so bumping this for ya), I'm sure not all my apps backed up, maybe it's just the ones still in phone memory, perhaps it's just the ones we got through play store / app brain when logged in....?
Anyhow, apps such as app combine let you back up apk's to card or just do a whole nandroid backup.
I'm guessing they're the ones google knows about when we signed in for them.
