HOWTO: Install Missing Android Market on XPERIA X10 Mini

hello .. i'have tried everything .. used z4root and AndRootFile ... didnt work when it comes to copy/paste vending.apk in the system/app folder .. first i couldnt find out why .. i tried another file manager app and could see "copy vending.apk failed" after i click on paste .. i then tried SuperOneClick and Root Explorer .. this time i see when i click on paste to system/app folder a message saying: "you cannot paste here becasue the file system is read-only"
any ideas what can i do
EDIT: I have managed to copy the vending.apk file finally .. I tapped on the upper margin in Root Explorer "mount R/W" I believe this changed the file system to a read/write ...so I could copy/paste and then installed the vending.apk in Root Explorer .. I then could see the market icon .. I didnt start it .. I unrooted the phone using SuperOneClick and then restarted xperia .. But I got instantly as phone was rebooted the messgae of Market has some error and has to be force closed and it closes it self immediately
I did all the steps so carefully but still unable to get Market working .. Any clues ?
SOLVED ! : well i found the solution to my problem and i dont know if admins accept if i link other forum in my post .. i'll do and if it is not accepted then my appologies ..

so for me after rooting with SuperOneClick and copying the vending.apk into system/app .. what i did is as the poster above said : hold-tapped on vending.apk now at its new folder system/app and it prompted a menu for me .. scrolled to "Permissions" and did as described above ! then i tapped on the file to open it and it started to install .. and then as described by you guys previously .. unroot .. reboot .. and tadda market is there and working ! yes working i even downloaded Steam app from there .. yay all this was for Steam app
NOW WE COME TO SAYING THANK YOU SO MUCH crazydip .. Draken Mirage .. sumeet_sageer and everyone on this thread .. NOT TO FORGET the people on the xda-developers forum specially shourov who i quoted .. i hope this solves the problem of crashing at downloading from Market as it did finally for me ... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I'm SE x10 mini pro user with android 2.1...I did your all method and my market was installed...but when i tried to open it the whit screen pop up and closed suddenly. every time i tried to open it only white screen pop up for 1 second and return to the home screen please help me please please...

I don't know what your problem could be, but I would try "clear data" anything related to the market app or google. Note that you will lose your settings for those apps. Also make sure you have the correct version of the market for your phone. Try reading over previous posts in this thread, maybe something will help you.

To paste you select the paste option in the file explorer. Maybe you mean that it gives you an error? Maybe you did not root your phone properly -OR- you are suffering what lillalioness wrote only 2 posts above yours! In fact, I think that lillalioness describes the exact problem you have to which he wrote a detailed solution.

If you are having problems. Re-read the how-to and make sure you did not miss any detail. Read it slow. If you are still having problems, keep reading what others say. There are a lot of really helpful replies here with solutions, read them!
Happy hacking and have fun. I should say that Xperia X10 Mini no longer receives updates from SE, so the solutions here should work for everyone. From the time I wrote the how-to the market has been working without a problem for me throughout all the updates. I no longer use the X10 Mini so it's also hard for me to diagnose problems people are having. But like I said, a lot of people have offered solutions to problems, so read all the replies.
