HP Slate - Engadget

Here's a link to the original article that the OP's post was based on:

HP Slate prototype gets yet another guided tour, this time with HDMI-equipped dock (video) -- Engadget

http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/22/hp-slate-no-longer-a-consumer-product-will-arrive-for-enterpris/

According to the second article it looks like HP is resurrecting the HP Slate as a business product instead of a consumer product. I'm somewhat leery of this info given that the HP Slate was supposedly axed as a project back in April when, I suspect, HP decided to purchase Palm. I suppose we'll see in the coming months if the HP Slate makes it's way onto their web site.

Slate will cost close to $1,000. You can get an Archos 101 for one third that. I just need a device for ebook, comics and web (a few games too).

I think all the OEM's bringing out devices higher than the lower end iPad will probably fail to put a dent in iPad sales. Android and iPad OS are simple to use for casual use folks- Windows is not.
