HTC 10 Not accepting fast charge

This has been happening for a couple of weeks. Initially my htc 10 was not receiving a charge from the factory charger - I couldn't figure out why. Currently the phone is charging from an old 2.0 amp charger but not the 3.0 amp charger. Weirdly enough the factory htc 10 charger successfully charged a samsung note 5 and indicated it was receiving a fast charge. Htc just sent me a replacement cable and wall outlet. the htc10 is now receiving a charge but it is still not indicating that it is recieving a fast charge. Im wondering if theres any reason for this? anyone have the same problem? questions...if i wasn't clear?

My 10 Evo comes with a 2A charger that supports quick charge, sometimes the quick charge works, sometimes it's just regular charging process. I guess that it depends on some factors like battery status, current phone activities....

thanks for your input. I haven't seen the fast charge notification since the problem with the initial charger and now with the new charger not indicating fast charge. also to note, the phone gave a notification saying it was overheating with its factory charger when i was having trouble charging it, as mentioned above. I unplugged and plugged it back in and it stopped working entirely. This is when i decided to use an old htc charger and it worked fine to charge the phone. I'm having decent battery life and the new charger seems to be giving me a fast charge but still is not indicating it is receiving one. I just don't want my battery to go in a year and i want all the fast charge capabilities Htc i raving about on htc 10. should i be going to htc about warranty? Thanks for any info!!

With my phone awake (not on lock screen), when I plug my factory charger in, the phone says "quick charger connected."

It will then either quick charge or trickle charge depending on the battery level, but will show no on-screen message about which mode is in effect.

Does yours not show that initial "connected" message?

Nothing happens when I connect mine to the charger, but I know that sometimes it does work.

It does not show any message the a charger has been connected. The battery icon in the top left does have the charge symbol when plugged in.
The issue worries me because the phone initially did have the notification saying 'fast charge connected' but after the problem with the factory charger not charging and then saying it was overheating the notification has disappeared.
Its not really a problem yet but it annoying because HTC is claiming some of the fastest charge times. I'm just wondering if i am getting those charge times from before and is my battery faulty? i was reading up on usb 3.0 and apparently it can be finicky giving the right power supply. and i just wondering theres not any issues going on with and other HTC10 owners and power supply. http://www.androidcentral.com/my-htc-10-hates-pixel-c-charger also theres this and ive tried using the pixel charger on my htc 10 and had mixed results, at first it wouldnt accept the charge, no notification. not its accepting the charge. i dont understand....

When I use the HTC wall wart and cable I get the Quick Charge message. Especially when I'm using FB reader and reading a book which is most night at home. Never get it with Samsung wall warts and the HTC cable or when I plug into a USB port on the PCs at work.

Remember not all cables are created equal. A lot of them are cheap and will not support QC. If your device is overheating I wold look at what apps are running in the background. Usually the only time I ever had charging issues is with a QC & while using navigation. It heats up the phone pretty quickly, especially if it is in a case.

I've only been using the stock HTC 10 wall outlet and chord. They gave me a replacement to try. I've also tried about turning off just about everything including location and all other background apps and I'm still not getting a notification it is quick charging. It's frustrating because the phone would notify me everytime I plugged it in at first. Now there's nothing, also I've noticed that the notification that tells you how long until your phone is charging will randomly disappear. Sometimes it will say "charging 1 hour till full" sometimes it just says "charging" apparently HTC is having problems with the USB, I hope it fixes in an update.

I think an update potentially could be what took away your quick charging status messages... I can totally imagine it going away with no warning with an update. I love-hate HTC. It would be very HTC for it to go away and not come back ever, or come back temporarily for one update revision and then go away again with the next one.

Do you use a Dot View/Ice View case? In my experience (M8/M9) the specially designed case will bypass lock screen and some notification features.

Have you changed the screen layout, lock screen style, or HTC Theme? The stock / original lockscreen or Theme may have the area alotted for the charging message whereas an alternate Theme or downloaded add on might not have the alotted text area or removed it for aesthetics.

Have you added a password or swipe gesture for unlock, or any other security feature? These could change the lockscreen display potentially.

Don't ever expect things to get better or change for the better with an update, unless you have personal communication with the manufacturer regarding a specific issue. I've seen far too many high hopes dashed away with updates.
Also a good reminder, a software update rarely ever fixes a potentially hardware related problem.
