HTC Android Locations app

So there's an app on my new HTC Sensation called Locations. It's filled up with information about restaurants nearby and stuff like that.

That's all fine, I can find restaurants and stuff if I want to, but according to my HTC Sync this app is taking up 1,5 gb of space, which is a bit more than I want to sacrifice on stuff like this.

Does anybody know if you can do anything about this, or what exactly is taking up this much space?

Im pretty sure this app is preloaded with a bunch of maps. Its a stand alone that does not require a data connection to work. You can get directions, like a nav system without the speaking turn by turn. Lots of maps is probably lots of memory. Thats how I understand it anyway.
