HTC Aria Stock E-mail App - Blank Plain Text E-mails

Hi all,

I'm a new Aria user, and I've pretty much got everything setup for Exchange access via ActiveSync. I am able to set the stock HTC e-mail client to receive HTML formatted messages from our Exchange server, which is great. However, I get a fair number of plain text e-mails that are specifically formatted that way; i.e., there is no HTML information at all. Among the message headers on these e-mails is "Content-Type: text/plain". When I open any of these messages, the stock e-mail client shows a blank message when I open it. If I change the message format setting to be Plain Text instead, messages that have already been sync'ed (using the HTML setting) still don't display, but a new plain text message will display just fine. If there is an attachment to the plain text e-mail, then I do see the attachment itself when set to HTML format, but nothing else of the message.

I haven't tried some of the other e-mail clients available; it seems like they all have their ups and downs. I have done a decent amount of searching, but did not find much on this specific issue for the stock HTC e-mail client. Is this problem a known issue (or can anyone replicate it), and is there any chance of fixing it? My preference would be to continue using the stock e-mail app, using the HTML format setting, but actually be able to read plain text e-mails!

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions,

The stock client on my Aria running froyo seems to display mail only in plain text. In the Send&Receive settings, the Message Format drop down is grayed out (it's set to Plain text). Is this a bug? Any ideas how to work around it?

thanks.
