HTC DESIRE - advice on factory reset

Hi chaps,

Ok so i changed my email from googlemail to gmail. My phone is obviously linked to my googlemail account but i want it with my gmail account, im only nit picking because theres no problems with syncing, im just fussy, i guess thats why i have an android phone.

anyway, to change my linked account i have to do a factory reset. Whats the best program to back up apps and homescreen layout etc (if possible). What apps are mostly likely not able to be backed up, official ones like ebay or non official like endomondo etc?

are there any problems i might encounter,

thanks in advance

mybackup free (30day trial) if you're not rooted is good for settings and home screens etc.

Personally I use Astro file manager to back up apps anyway. Ive only encountered a few it cant back up, which are paid for apps.

There are threads on here about the googlemail - gmail change. Did you read them? I never had the problem so I'm not sure if theres a better way than factory reset
